Woven baskets for tourists are a significant source of income for the Tarahumara. These women weren't here before we arrived. But when they saw our bus approaching these "mushroom" rocks, they came running (in the rain) to set up shop in these positions. We learned that although they make the baskets themselves, they actually purchase the prepared materials (pine needles and palm leaves) from others.

Our bus stopped at one of the few Tarahumara cave homes that accepts visitors. Some of the Tarahumara apparently still live in caves such as this; however, many have added small log cabins to their homes.

We stopped at a second church at San Ignacio. There was always something to see in every direction.
