The Cost of Downtime. It's in a Special Advertising Supplement in the January/February issue of Baseline Magazine, and the numbers may be somewhat self-serving, coming from the Association of Contingency Planners, but it reminds me that everyone should have an idea of their cost of downtime. Here are their numbers per hour:
- Financial services/brokerage: $6.4 million
- Credit card processing: $2.6 million
- Pay-per-view TV: $150,000
- Airline reservations: $89,000
- Package shipping: $28,000
