Blogarithms

Doug Kaye's thoughts on web services, web hosting and managed services.

Loudcloud and Frontera. Back in March, Tim Wilson wrote this column for Network World Fusion in which he suggested, "Loudcloud's purchase of Frontera last month could spell an important revelation in the world of managed service providers and application service providers." Some interesting thoughts here considering it was written prior to the Loudcloud/EDS deal. But I wonder if the Frontera/Loudcloud deal was consumated. The Frontera web site has no mention of the Loudcloud deal, and hasn't been updated--it appears--since December 2001. I'll make some phone calls next week, but if you know the answer in the meantime, let me know. [Interesting note: EDS, Frontera and Loudcloud are the #1, #2, #3 (respectively) listed vendors on ATG's Service Provider web page.
