Tim Bray Wants to Read Tim has been listening to the latest edition of The Gillmor Gang but would rather be able to read it. We'll have a transcript online ASAP. Unfortunately, due to the three-day weekend, it's not going to happen real fast. I edit/mix the shows Friday afternoon and send the MP3s to the transcribers by midnight. Once we get the transcripts back, Steve needs to proofread and correct them, then I have to convert them from Word to XML and import them into the CMS.
I've assumed that you'd like to hear the show ASAP, not await the simultaneous posting of the transcripts. True?
That's also one reason we broadcast the show live at noon Pacific time on Fridays. Not only is it good discipline for us, it also allows the diehards to hear The Gang's sometimes-newsworthy ideas at the first-possible moment.
