I'm reading a book about the flu epidemic of 1918.
I haven't read that one, but if you like the topic, I strongly recommend tracking down books by the late Berton Roueche. He was an occasional contributor to New Yorker and I used to turn to the TOC as soon as my copy arrived to see if it included one of his short stories.
Only one book is in print, The Medical Detectives. Eleven Blue Men and Other Narratives of Medical Detection is also terrific, but out of print. Try to find one used if you can.
Epidemiology that reads like a can't-put-it-down spy novel. But avoid his novels.
