Vacant Stares. According to a new report from Telegeography:
...55 percent of space in U.S. carrier-neutral colo sites was empty as of mid-year 2001. By comparison, the industrial premises vacancy rate was just six percent.
No surprise then that according to Colocation 2002: A Guide to Power and Space, Band-X reports colo space as inexpensive as $300 per month per rack in North America. The 450-page report costs $1,795, but you can download the Executive Summary for free.
